WHAT YOU MUST KNOW BEFORE WRITING FOR THE WEB

Key Points To Note to be a Successful Blogger (Continued...)

The next thing is,

What Do You Want to Blog About?

To a professional blogger, this is the the most important aspect to deal with first in their mind, before anything else. If you want to start a blog, first, know the product or service you would like to sell to or share with people. Or perhaps a story you want to start telling people about.

This is otherwise called a niche. A niche however is the product, service or area(s) of interest that you choose so that you can appeal to the minds of a targeted or specialised members of the society. So you see, your niche is your key to starting a blog and meeting the needs of your followers or target audience.

This should be the number one agenda and also noting in mind, the type of audience you want to get to would give you a clue on the niche you should venture into. Most people blog about entertainment, sports, fashion, movies/TV, Celebrities, creative arts, e-commerce, jobs/vacancies, business/investments, politics, properties, culture, agriculture, education, auto parts, travel news, tourism, events news and so on . This is very expedient.

Ask Yourself, Why do you Want to Create a Blog. You must be able to ask yourself this very funny but important question as well, what is your motive behind starting up a blog. Is it just for public awareness for free information on your products or services, creating a name on the Internet, perhaps you would love show off your impressive write-up/journalistic skills, maybe for political or religious reasons etc.

There are many reasons you could decide to become a blogger, but whichever one you belong, I can assure you, if you have a good blog design, creative/quality write up (helpful), and original content, you can make money through it.

Obviously, this is the reason people take blogging business more seriously than before. It is more profitable this days to create good blogs, to help others in solving one or two problems. Although, there are many ways to this, to generate cash however, this will be extensively discussed in my subsequent post.

How Do You Want Your Blog to Look Like?

The next is, how do you want to start/design your blog. You must know how to appeal to your audience through the aesthetic of your website/blog. It is when your site is attractive and looks appealing to the target audience that you gain high traffic in when you post quality contents in your blog. You must determine weather you want to start a professional or just the one you do at your leisure time. A period when you just to reach out on a pressing topic bordering you. But professional blogging is far more different from that, it engages the target audience more often, anytime he finds each post interesting, most especially when it meets his needs.

The blogger must however carefully prepare for the monetisation guidelines (the rules and policies that guides monetising a blog). This is key and you need to understand, decide on and to be sure of, before you start a professional blog. It takes training, experience and consistency, to be ranked by google or other search engines as an expert in blogging and to get paid through same means.

Decide on When to Start Your Blog

When do you want to start your blog? That should be the next question in your mind and you must be able to have a specific answer to that. You must be able to fix a time to start and be consistent with it - no delay. This is because, you must not keep your target audience waiting for too long, so as not to loose their followership. remember, there are hundreds of bloggers with similar niches like yours. Also, your online audience must be able to know when you will be publishing your new post on daily basis (it must be time bond and deadline oriented). This way, your blog lovers will stick with you daily, waiting for the goodies of information you have packaged for their readership.

Who are Your Target Audience in Your Blog?

You must equally know the guest or people you are focusing your blog on. Who are you addressing or writing for? There are various categories of audience to write for. You must place them into sub-categories so as to meet their needs and also to be sure of a feedback at the end of the day, .making sure the message you are passing through is not lost. Target audience are like target customers in the business world. Without a specified customer base to sell to, your products or services may remain stagnated. And  if there is no profit (revenue) coming out from it, it is more or less a futile effort. The same thing applies to blog niche.

You must determine if your audience falls in the categories of girls or boys, men or women, age brackets of 18-50, 51-65 or the teenagers respectively. Or Perhaps, yours is the kids blog. All these categories, you must put in mind before you can start posting contents. And you must also learn how and where to get those sets of audience from through the Internet, so as to reach them and achieve your goal.

Know Where to Host Your Blog

The last but not definitely the least in the order of understanding blogging is knowing where to host your blog. Hosting is the carrier or vehicle that houses the blog and its whole content. A blogger must be able to figure out, which platform best suits his kind of niche and how profitable it will be within a short or long period of his venture. There are two major types of hosting services; we have the free hosting service - which allows users or blogger to host/own a blog for free, with online pug-ins and tools available to work with. This type of hosting plan is limited in services and not available for real-time professional and monetised blogging business.

Meanwhile, there is a paid hosting platform, which helps users in hosting (accommodating) their domain names (the name of your blog.com) for a period of time, usually between 1 month to 5 years, in order to be available for advertisers and search engines to see and rate your blog and available for monetisation. You must however note that, there are up to four categories of paid hosting services. These four services shall be discussed in our next blog post. Keep following our blog, for up to date and quality info-quest.

Thank you for reading, I hope this helps. Please feel free to comment, share and like us.

HOW TO START A PROFITABLE BLOG - WHAT EXPERTS WON'T TELL YOU

A BEGINNERS' GUIDE INTO MAKING WAVES IN THE WORLD OF BLOGGING UNCOVERED

A brief History into the 'Old' Traditional Press

Many years back, there were few members of the society who had the right to publish stories about people, politics, entertainment, fashion, generals news etc, in thousands of news holes. These set of people were core professionals in journalism, trained for many years in the University or Polytechnic/Monotechnics, for the purpose of dissemination of various news stories and with a very strong body (association), controlling the inflow/outflow (scrutinising and publishing) of such stories.

They were also saddled with taking responsibility for any ethical or unethical standards in those newspapers/magazines respectively. And we should not also forget that the readership is very minute, i.e. it is meant for few high class individuals.

However, I am not saying this processes has been screened off or not acceptable again as of today, but we need to note that, gradually and very soon, with the trend of technology improvement and expansion of the world wide web (agitating for more quality contents and videos), it will finally go into extinction.

Today, the old things are gradually fading off, all things are becoming new. Thanks to the new media, through which millions of information are content-analysed and sorted for. When blog came few years ago, it changed so many things, through the use of Internet in delivering various news and information to a target audience, which are usually far larger than the old 'press'.

The truth is, if you will love to delve in to blogging or have the aspiration for telling/selling/sharing your stories online or about to start or perhaps you have started already, there are basic guiding principles or modules oprandi. Remember that, in life, there are reasons behind every action. so is blogging too, you must be sure to answer the questions of journalism, viz:

what (the product/service/niche/information), why (reason/the driving force), when (time bond/deadline oriented), how(professional or leisure), for whom(your audience) and on which platform (where) do you want to start a blog. All these you will picture in your mind and on this I will be sharing with you one or two information that will guide you.
